ABS Plastic Sheets are a combination of three different materials Acrylonitrile, Butadiene, and Styrene, each giving its own set of useful properties. ABS provides an optimum balance of tensile impact strengths. It features ease of forming, excellent toughness and rigidity and is particularly good for deep draw vacuum forming for products likely to receive abuse in the form of knocks, scuffing and scratching. ABS also has ecellent chemical resistance. Mulford offers a variety of grades of ABS including specialist high heat and flame retardant resins as well as different finishes.
ABS sheet is stocked in a Gloss and Hair-cell finish in Black and White from 1.0mm to 4.5mm in a 2440 x 1220mm sheet size. UV stabilised ABS panels are also available upon request.
ASA sheet (Acrylic, Styrene, and Acrylonitrile) has significantly improved weatherability performance compared to that of other styrene materials. The acrylate rubber system has better resistance to UV radiation and attack from atmospheric oxygen than the butadiene rubber system in ABS. Polymers exposed to a combination of heat, UV degradation and atmospheric oxygen over extended periods of time can have their properties severely affected. Retention of physical properties, especially toughness, is paramount in most outdoor applications.
Not only can the physical performance of a part deteriorate but yellowing, reduction in gloss and discolouration can also occur. Low levels of yellowing are extremely important for applications where long term aesthetic and appearance is important. When it comes to yellowing and gloss retention ASA is significantly better than ABS which shows signs of losing gloss more rapidly. The ASA material will exhibit far superior gloss retention properties than either of the other two styrene materials.
Cell Cast Acrylic Sheet is one of the most widely used grades of acrylic sheet in today’s market. Acrylic sheet is available in clear, opal, black, white and other colours such as green, red, blue and yellow across a number of thickness and sheet sizes. Acrylic can be cut, drilled, glued, thermoformed, bent, machined, polished and engraved. It is lighter yet stronger than glass and has superb clarity, rigidity and surface hardness making it an extremely versatile material.
Acrylic sheeting is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and has excellent weatherability and is resistant to most common chemicals including acids, alkalis, oils and greases; it is a suitable choice for numerous signage and POS display applications.
Acrylic sheets are available in sizes from 2000mm x 1000mm through to 3050mm x 2050mm across a wide range of colours including red, green, orange, blue, yellow, opal, clear in addition to black and white.
Duraplex® is a continuously processed high impact modified acrylic sheet & reel that offers an excellent balance between rigidity, impact resistance, processing advantages and cost effectiveness. Mulford Plastics carries 2 grades of Duraplex impact modified acrylic thus providing you with the most superior impact of all acrylic’s.
SG05 our 50% impact modified acrylic is
5 to 6 times stronger then general purpose acrylic

SG10 our 100% impact modified acrylic is
10 times stronger then general purpose acrylic
Approximately 20 to 30 times stronger then double strength window glass
Approximately 40 to 50 times stronger than polished wire glass or other glasses.
High Density Polyethylene also referred to as HDPE sheet is manufactured from the semi-crystalline polyethylene (PE) family and exhibits the properties of high impact strength, abrasion resistance, and low coefficient of friction. The material is also moisture, stain and odour resistant, and is FDA approved to be used in the food processing industry. The material's durability makes it ideally suited for a variety of applications such as water tanks, chute linings and numerous industrial uses. There are two grades of HDPE sheet available via Mulford plastics.
These various grades include Metzler PE100 HDPE and Ralloy industrial HDPE. Ralloy is available in both Black and Natural sheet whilst PE100 Pipe Grade HDPE sheet is available in black only.
HIPS or High Impact Polystyrene sheet is obtained by blending standard styrene with impact-improving additives. Due to the combination of versatility, easy processing and good value polystyrene is one of the largest volume thermoforming plastics. The surface allows for good ink adhesion with the end product rich in looking, durable and functional. It is available in opaque white and black sheet and is most often used in applications of temporary or disposable nature.
Super tough, durable KYDEX® industrial sheet is a proprietary alloy thermoplastic that brings new dimensions to customers in design freedom, formability, rigidity, impact resistance, chemical resistance and fire retardance.
KYDEX® sheet has key advantages to thermoformers with the product less hygroscopic, it typically does not require pre-drying and offers superior impact, more uniform forming with less wall thinning and offers significantly greater resistance to a broad range of corrosive chemicals and cleaning solutions. With the introduction of new grades in 2011, thermformers can now offer their customers a superior product that can weather the harsh environments of scratches, dents, cracks, stains, fading and chemicals at cost effective pricing.
KYDEX offers unparalleled colour matching and consistency, custom blank sizes, anti-microbial additives in convenient short runs.
Lexan Margard MR10 and Makrolon AR polycarbonate sheets have unique, hard surface coating which provides a high level of protection against abrasion, so it’s an excellent candidate for use in applications where frequent contact is likely. At Mulford we can offer both Lexan and Makrolon grades depending on your region.
In addition to the inherent characteristics of a polycarbonate material, Lexan Margard and Makrolon® AR sheet has a proprietary hard surface coating, on one or two sides, which provides a high level of resistance to abrasion, chemical resistance and weathering. Depending on the product they are backed by a 5 to 10 year limited warranty against loss of light transmission and coating failure and breakage. Lexan is has a very diverse range of Margard products depending on your application we can add features such as Antifog; for different processing methods we can offer grades for flat or formability and finally offer flame retardant grades
* Lexan® is available in Australia, New Zealand and China/Hong Kong
* Makrolon® is available in Singapore, China/Honk Kong, India and Malaysia
Palram PVC Sheet is one of the most versatile thermoplastics in use today. It is used extensively from food packaging to home construction.
Its excellent strength to weight ratio and superior flame resistance, coupled with its low cost, make it the material of choice for the most demanding applications. Palram™ polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is an amorphous thermoplastic material with excellent chemical resistance and dielectric properties, good tensile, flexural and mechanical strength.
PVC sheet has a very high resistance to many chemicals including concentrated acids, alkalis and alcohols. Its excellent mechanical strength and ease of machining also makes PVC an exceptionally useful plastic for pipe fittings and components where chemicals are used in industry. Palram™ PVC sheet is available in grey and white across numerous thicknesses such as 3.0mm, 4.5mm and 6.0mm.
Ralloy Signboard is manufactured by extruding one colour on the inside and a contrasting colour on the outside. The layers are combined while the material is still molten. The result is a homogenous sheet that is guaranteed not to delaminate, crack or chip. It is superior to other sign materials, which are separate layers of material laminated together. Ralloy Sign Board is easily routed or engraved using current CNC router technology. As the skin of the material is removed by the router, the inside colour shows through, a sign is easily fabricated with minimum finishing requirements. The durable textured finish resists scratches and marring. The product is UV stabilized to resist deterioration in harsh outdoor environments, making it the perfect signage material.
Shinkolite® Acrylic is a continuous cast acrylic and has many of the excellent properties of cell cast acrylic. Continuous cast does however displays advantages over cell cast acrylic with closer thickness tolerances, longer lengths sheets, easier formability and superior optical quality
Vipet® PETG Plastic Sheets are a versatile co-polyester used for a wide range of applications that require exceptional clarity and mechanical properties.
